Teaching Workshops and Symposia

The OSUN Developing Teaching Professionals (DTP) project, hosted by CEU’s Elkana Center, offers several forms of support for teaching development, including courses, mentoring programs, bilateral partnerships, and more.

In addition to these opportunities, workshops and training symposia are available as:

Inclusive Teaching Workshop Series

The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Teaching Workshop series brings together colleagues across the OSUN network for a series of conversations and teaching development opportunities around inclusive teaching. Events are collaborations held at different OSUN campuses and online. Past topics have included disability, anti-racism and decolonization, inclusion in international learning environments, and student-centered and democratic classrooms.

A core pillar of the OSUN Developing Teaching Professionals program (DTP) is to promote inclusive and democratic teaching, as well as student-centeredness, collaboration with students, and student co-ownership in pedagogy and curricula.

If you are interested in co-sponsoring a workshop on your campus, participating in an event, or receiving updates, please contact dtp@ceu.edu.

An overview of previous events about inclusive and democratic teaching can be found here: workshops in spring 2023.

Elkana Teaching Symposium

The Annual Elkana Symposium on Reimagining Teaching and Learning is a forum for faculty and others engaged in teaching and learning at CEU and across the OSUN network to share innovative and successful practices and to develop their own teaching through workshops and training sessions, keynote talks, and panels with peers. Supported by the OSUN Developing Teaching Professionals (DTP) project, it brings together faculty and doctoral students at CEU and other OSUN institutions, Global Teaching Fellows for their initial orientation, teaching grant recipients from CEU and the DTP project, and others engaged in teaching and learning.

For a sampling of previous events, please consult the program from the June 2023 Symposium.
