Global Teaching Fellowships

The Global Teaching Fellowship Program (GTFP) supports advanced CEU doctoral students and recent alums in their teaching development. During the fellowship period, Fellows teach their own, independent course at another institution and receive mentoring and pedagogical support from the Yehuda Elkana Center. In addition to any compensation received from the host institution for teaching, CEU provides grants to support teaching-related research and scholarly development as a teacher. In some cases, CEU is also able to provide assistance in helping doctoral students and alums who are interested in teaching find higher education institutions looking for teachers.

Since 2014, over 200 Fellows have participated in the Global Teaching Fellowship Program. The collaborations have often proven transformative, not just for the Fellows who gain valuable teaching experiences and develop in their pedagogy, but also for the students and institutions where they teach, which are often mission-driven and/or under-resourced institutions.

Fellowships can be online, in-person, or in hybrid mode. In some cases, applicants have already identified an institution where they can teach. In other cases, GTFP can facilitate matches between prospective teachers and institutions.
