The Yehuda Elkana Center for Teaching, Learning, and Higher Education Research recently celebrated a cohort of 18 CEU doctoral students who completed the Certificate Program for Teaching in Higher Education during the 2022/2023 academic year.

Certificate recipients were honored at a ceremony on the closing day of CEU’s Elkana Symposium on Reimagining Teaching and Learning in June. Among the topics covered over the three-day symposium were inclusive and democratic teaching and learning, inquiry-based learning approaches, teaching and learning in the age of AI, game-based learning approaches, discipline-specific pedagogies, and transferrable skills.

The Certificate of Teaching in Higher Education is a comprehensive pathway for early-career academics, incorporating hands-on experiences, as well as coursework. Both the certificate and the materials students create in it can be invaluable preparation for academic jobs.

Interested doctoral students can find more information about the certificate program and 2023/2024 course dates on the Elkana Center website. Course registration in SITS will open on September 11, 2023.
