CTL launches workshops on excellence in teaching in HE for external partners

A workshop on foundations in teaching in higher education was led by CTL's Dr. Misic and Dr. Rymarenko for early career faculty and instructors from ITMO University, St. Petersburg, Russia. Having the expertise in teaching and mentoring early career faculty, Misic and Rymarenko designed the workshop based on contemporary, research-based approaches to teaching and learning and grounded in experiential learning and collaborative inquiry.

Beginning in November 2019 and with the generous support of The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the CEU Center for Teaching and Learning will create the CEU Community of Scholar-Teachers (CCST). The CCST is envisaged as a network of faculty and researchers interested in new approaches to inter- and multi-disciplinary teaching and learning in the humanities and social sciences.

Call for Applications 2019-2020 European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities

CEU announces the Call for Applications for its ninth annual European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities.

The award, launched in 2011, honors academics in the social sciences and humanities who teach at higher education institutions in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). The Diener Prize of 5,000 euros, which accompanies the award, is made possible by a generous gift from Steven and Linda Diener in memory of Ilona Diener.

CTL to participate in the Erasmus + project “SensiClass” on teaching sensitive topics in diverse classrooms

The Center for Teaching and Learning in partnership with CEU's Cultural Heritage Studies Program will cooperate on an international project "Tackling sensitive topics in classroom". The three-year project, sponsored through the Erasmus+ scheme 'Strategic Partnership for Higher Education' will also include expert colleagues from the University of Tartu, the SGH Warsaw School of Economics, and the University of Hradec Králové. The project has been awarded a grant of € 303,083, of which CEU's budget is €75,547 We are grateful to ACRO for their assistance in the application process.
