CEU honors Prof. Dr. Petra Aczel, University Professor and Head of the Institute of Behavioural Science and Communication Theory, Corvinus University of Budapest, with the sixth annual European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities

Dr. Petra Aczél, University Professor and Head of the Institute of Behavioural Science and Communication Theory, Corvinus University of Budapest, was honored as recipient of the sixth annual European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities at CEU's Opening Ceremony on 15 September, 2017. This pan-European award is accompanied by the €5,000 Diener Prize, made possible by a generous gift from Steven and Linda Diener in memory of Ilona Diener. Read more.

A distinguished teacher and scholar, Dr. Aczél earned her PhD from Eötvös Loránd University of Sciences. She was selected Teacher of the Year at Corvinus University of Budapest in 2012, and in 2015 she received the Kenneth Rice Prize for Teaching Excellence. Dr. Aczél was lauded as a teacher whose professional commitment, innovative teaching, and dedication to student learning, in the words of one of her former students "makes an imprint for a lifetime."
