CEU Honors Dr. Eleanor Denny, Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Trinity College Dublin, with the European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities
In order to promote excellence in teaching across the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and upon the milestone of its 20th year (2011), Central European University (CEU) established the European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities. The honor is the first and only pan-European award for excellence in teaching. The inaugural winner is Dr. Eleanor Denny, an assistant professor of economics at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. Members of CEU's leadership presented the award to Denny as part of CEU's 2012-2013 academic year opening ceremony on September 14. Read more.
Eleanor Denny is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Trinity College Dublin. She earned her Ph.D. in Economics at the University College Dublin in 2007, and she holds an M.B.A. in Quantitative Finance and a B.A. in Economics and Mathematical Studies from UCD where she has served as Director of Undergraduate Teaching and Learning in the School of Social Science and Philosophy.
Dr. Denny's research and teaching focus on energy economics, including work on economics of renewable generation integration, economic impacts of carbon prices, energy policy, and related issues. See http://www.eleanordenny.org/
