CEU a Key Partner in Advancing Higher Education Reform in Myanmar

A delegation led by Provost Liviu Matei visited Myanmar in January 2017. CEU was invited to take a leading role in assisting the Myanmar government and universities, contributing to the initial work of the new National Education Policy Commission, advancing the ambitious revitalization of the University of Yangon, and developing the national and institutional frameworks for quality assurance in higher education. The CEU Center for Teaching and Learning hosted Swapna Kumar, clinical associate professor from the School of Education, University of Florida, USA as a visiting Fulbright Scholar in Spring 2017. Dr. Kumar actively engaged in the academic activities of our Center. She taught a course for CEU doctoral students on “Course Re-Design: Blending Online and In-person Teaching Strategies” as part of the CTL Certificate Program for Excellence in Teaching. She led two discussion sessions organized exclusively for CEU faculty.
