CTL to participate in the Erasmus + project “SensiClass” on teaching sensitive topics in diverse classrooms

The Center for Teaching and Learning in partnership with CEU's Cultural Heritage Studies Program will cooperate on an international project "Tackling sensitive topics in classroom". The three-year project, sponsored through the Erasmus+ scheme 'Strategic Partnership for Higher Education' will also include expert colleagues from the University of Tartu, the SGH Warsaw School of Economics, and the University of Hradec Králové. The project has been awarded a grant of € 303,083, of which CEU's budget is €75,547 We are grateful to ACRO for their assistance in the application process.

Meet Georgina Blakeley, Recipient of European Award for Excellence in Teaching

Dr. Georgina Blakeley, formerly Director of Teaching and Deputy Head of School at the Open University (OU) in the United Kingdom, received the 2019 European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities on September 13 in Budapest, during the opening ceremony of CEU’s 29th academic year.

International Collaboration on Teaching and Learning in Higher Education at the CTL

In July 2019, CTL's Gorana Misic and Margaryta Rymarenko were invited by the Innovative Training Center of the European University (EU) in Tbilisi to share the teaching and mentoring practices of CEU CTL at the conference "Modern Methods and Challenges of Teaching and Assessment in Higher Education". The conference was attended by representatives of Georgian higher education institutions including Tbilisi State University, Ilia State University, Sokhumi State University, European University, and Samtskhe-Javakheti State University.

Georgina Blakeley of the Open University receives CEU’s European Teaching Award

Dr. Georgina Blakeley, formerly Director of Teaching and Deputy Head of School at the Open University (OU) in the United Kingdom, is the winner of the 2019 European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities. The award is given by Central European University (CEU) and accompanied by the €5,000 Diener Prize. 

Dr. Blakeley was presented with the award at CEU's Opening Ceremony for academic year 2019-2020 on 13 September, 2019.
