
On March 9 and 10, CEU’s Fourth Annual Elkana Symposium brought together educational developers, educational theorists, higher education researchers, and faculty to examine the intersection of teaching in university settings and broader social contexts. The gathering, hosted by the Yehuda Elkana Center for Teaching, Learning, and Higher Education Research, centered on the theme: “Educating for Freedom: Universities in an Age of Constraints.”
Keynotes, panels, and poster presentations explored democratic teaching and learning practices, educational approaches transcending the walls of the classroom through social engagement and civic life, access to digital learning, responses to generative AI, and research on academic freedom and autonomy.
