I joined Central European University in June 2021.
My background includes online and hybrid course development, academic technology, and educational project coordination. At the CEU, I strive to co-create experiences with students and faculty that encourage active and collaborative learning. I also enjoy exploring technologies that encourage exchange of ideas and reflection.
Prior to coming to the CEU, I supported faculty in the U.S. university and community college system as an instructional designer. Additionally, I have managed educational programs and taught in the U.S.A., France, Poland, and China. From 2017-2019, I worked with Paper Airplanes, a nonprofit organization that matches conflict-affected individuals with personal tutors via video conferencing platforms. I currently sit on their Advisory Board.
My pedagogical interests include co-designing online and blended courses, facilitating virtual exchange, digital accessibility, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). I am active with several international partnerships, including the European University Association's (EUA) Learning & Teaching Thematic Peer Group on supporting digitally competent teachers and the Universal Design for Learning Implementation and Research Network Higher Education SIG. I am currently supporting a number of projects that incorporate game-based learning into the humanities and social science classroom.
